If the client’s home address and postal address are the same you can enter the one address and share it between two address types. Sharing an address links your contact to an existing address. This means that if the client’s address changes you need only change it in one place.

  1. Open the relevant client.
  2. Go to the Addresses tab on the Client page.
  3. Click Add/maintain address under Addresses on the Tasks bar.
  4. Click Share address. The Select address to be linked window appears.
  5. Select the Address Type to which you want to link an address. For example, select Postal to link an address to a client’s postal address.
  6. To link the address to an existing address:

If you want to link to an address which has been defined for the current client.

  1. Find the address you want to link to in the table

  2. Click to select the address.

OR 
If you want to link to an existing address which has been defined for another client.

  1. Click AO-GS-Button-Search.png. The Find Contacts window opens.
  2. Enter the name of the contact you want to find into the search field and click Search.
  3. Find in the contact in the table and click to select it.
  4. Click OK.
  5. A list of existing addresses for the selected client appear in the table at the bottom of the Select address to be linked window.
  6. Find the address you want to link to in the table
  7. Click to select the address.
  8. Click Select. The shared address appears on the Maintain Contact Addresses window. It cannot be edited as it is linked to an existing address.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Click Close when you have finished adding and editing client addresses.

  1. Open the relevant client.
  2. Go to the Addresses tab on the Client page.
  3. Click Add/maintain address under Addresses on the Tasks bar.
  4. Select the address you want to remove from the client’s details.
  5. Click Unlink address. The Unlink address dialog appears.
  6. Click Yes to remove the address from the client. Alternatively, click No.

  1. Open the relevant client.
  2. Go to the Addresses tab on the Client page.
  3. Click Add/maintain address under Addresses on the Tasks bar.
  4. Select the address you want to inspect.
  5. Click View address links. The Clients or contacts sharing this address window list the identities.
  6. Click Close.
