To access the Client page you must first search for and select the client. See Finding an existing client for instructions on searching for a client. The Client page has a number of tabs which group information together so that details are easy to view and edit when necessary. Each tab is described in more detail below. Click a tab to display the information for that tab on the Client page. The Tasks bar will update as you change tabs to show the tasks associated with the information on the tab. The Client page has the following tabs: Main tabThis tab displays when you open a client and contains the information identifying the client and how to contact them along with any notes. From the Main tab you can: Create a client or contact — - New clients and contacts are created using the Create Client/Contact wizard. Click Create client on the Tasks bar to create a client or contact. See Creating a client. Change a client name or code — - Client names (both personal and organisational) and client codes can be changed using the Client page. Click Edit client detail on the Tasks bar to change the client’s name or code. Close a client —- If a client no longer requires your services you can close the client to prevent them appearing in your searches and certain reports. Clients cannot be deleted from your system if work has been completed for them to maintain the work history of the practice. Click Close client on the Tasks bar to close a client. Re-open a closed client —- You can choose to re-open a closed client to make them active again. Click Re-open client on the Tasks bar to re-open the client. Delete a client —- If a client has no jobs created or work completed for them, then they can be deleted from your system. Convert a client to a contact —- If a client has no jobs created or work completed for them, they can be converted to a client. View all the clients and contacts in a family group — view and open all the clients and contacts belonging to the same family group. Click View all clients and contacts in family group on the Tasks bar. (New Zealand) The following tasks are available if you have upgraded from MYOB AO Classic: Edit client’s tax details — Open MYOB AO Classic - Client Details Tax tab where you can edit this client’s tax details. Return preparation — Open MYOB AO Classic - Return Preparation module for this client so you can prepare/review their tax returns. Tax management — Open MYOB AO Classic - Tax Management at the Tax Clients screen for this client so you can prepare/review their tax returns. E-File — Open MYOB AO Classic - E-File screen to edit the client’s tax details. AO Classic GL— Access your MYOB AO Classic General Ledger. The following tasks are available if you have Practice Manager: WIP enquiry — Perform a WIP enquiry for this client and display the results in the WIP enquiry screen. Debtors ledger — Open the debtors ledger for this client.
Jobs tabThe Jobs tab on the Client page is used to create and maintain information about the work being carried out by your practice for the client.This tab is only available if you have Practice Manager installed. Tax tabThe Tax tab on the Clients page is used manage tax settings for the client and allows you to review and set tax details for the client. Responsibility tabAccess online learning video on this topic The Responsibility tab on the Contact and Client pages is used to create and maintain information about the people and areas within your practice that are responsible for a client or contact’s work. You record the team of people who will perform various functions for the client, as well as the Partner, Department, Office and Company that have been allocated to particular clients. These responsibilities are attached to clients for reporting purposes. Documents tabThe Documents tab is used to create and maintain a database of documents that relate to contacts or clients and opens a Windows Explorer style view to enable easy navigation to documents and folders. Client Accounting tabThe Client Accounting tab on the Contact and Client pages is used to access client accounting tasks for the client. Tax Returns tab (Australia)The Tax Returns tab provides access to tax returns and other associated information. It also provides a summary of certain Lodgment and Assessment information regarding the selected return. On the Tax Returns tab you can: Create a return Open an existing return Edit the return properties Validate a return View the return estimate Print a return Amend a lodged return Delete a return Lock or unlock a return Select a return to output for ELS Lodgment Update the status of a return Assessment details.
Bills tabThe Bills tab provides details of draft bills and full billing history for the selected client. This tab is only available if you have Practice Manager installed. Access online learning video on this topic The Extra tab displays additional information that the practice wants to collect or carry out in connection with a Client or Contact. The fields on the tab represent extra fields and extra lists that the system administrator sets up using the Maintenance menu. Associated tabAccess online learning video on this topic On the Associated tab you can view and create relationship links between the client or contact and other clients and contacts in the database. For example, if you add an organisation as a client, you can identify a person who will be your contact point in that organisation, or create a link to the director. Tasks bar options allow you to Add, Edit and Delete associations. In Australia, if you have upgraded from MYOB AO Classic, you can edit relationship information required for Tax processing by selecting Edit additional relationship details on the tasks bar. This opens the Relationships tab on the Client Details window in MYOB AO Classic.
