    Downloading Pre-fill data

    When downloading pre-fill data for tax returns, you can select a single tax return or multiple tax returns.

    1. Select the tax returns in the Individual Tax Returns list. You will not be able to select the return if:
      • the return is currently downloading or pre-filling
      • the Return Name, Client Code, Agent, or TFN is blank
      • the Agent is not onboarded.
    2. In the Tasks bar, click Download & Save.

      If there is no default file location for saved pre-fill reports, a message will appear. Click OK to set up a default file location, or click Cancel to end the download process. See Changing Pre-fill Manager settings for more information.

    3. You will see a notification message depending on the status of your selected return(s). Click Yes to proceed, or No to close the dialog and resolve the issue. The message window will also show the location where the pre-fill report will be saved. If you wish to change this location, click Settings to open the Report File Settings window. See Changing Pre-fill Manager settings for more information.
      Refer to the following table to see when you will be prompted.

  • The

  • The report will be downloaded from the Tax Agent Portal, and the Pre-fill Status will change to “Downloading”.
  • If the report was received successfully, the Pre-fill Status will change to “Ready for Pre-fill”. The Date Downloaded will also update to the current date.

    Download times can vary depending on the number of reports you are downloading, and the speed of your internet connection.

  • If the return was not downloaded successfully, the Pre-fill Status will change to “Download Error”, and a red hyperlink will appear. Click the hyperlink to show the error details. See See Pre-fill errors for more information.

  • You can now open the pre-fill report by clicking the link in the Pre-fill Report column.
