Type of TrustDescription
Special disability trust A trust which has the meaning given by section 1209L of the Social Security Act 1991. See the ATO website for more information.

 

Deceased trust

 

Trust administered by an executor under a will.
Fixed trustA trust in which persons have fixed entitlements to all of the income and capital of the trust at all times during the income year. Fixed entitlements are as defined in section 272-5 of Schedule 2F of the ITAA 1936.
Fixed unit trustA fixed trust in which interest in the income and capital of the trust are represented by units.
Hybrid trustA trust which is not a fixed trust but in which persons have fixed entitlements to income or capital of the trust during the income year. Fixed entitlements are as defined in section 272-5 of Schedule 2F of the ITAA 1936.
Public trading trustTrust created for the purpose of financing or acquiring an interest in the operation and/or development of a business or project rather than for purely investing purposes.
Public unit trusts: listedA fixed unit trust which is a widely held unit trust at all times during the income year and in which any of its units were listed for quotation in the official list of a stock exchange in Australia or elsewhere during the income year. A widely held unit trust is as defined in section 272-105 of Schedule 2F of the ITAA 1936.
Public unit trusts: unlistedA fixed unit trust which is a widely held unit trust at all times during the income year and in which none of its units were listed for quotation in the official list of a stock exchange in Australia or elsewhere during the income year. A widely held unit trust is as defined in section 272-105 of Schedule 2F of the ITAA 1936.
