From 1 April 2019, employers must report employee info to the IRD every payday via payday filing, instead of filing an IR348. The information on this page only applies before 1 April 2019.

Before you file your IR348 with Inland Revenue

Ace Payroll allows you to create an IR348 file as many times as you wish - if you make a mistake, you can go just back and create a new file.

The new file overwrites the old file.

After you file your IR348 with Inland Revenue

If you have already filed you IR438 with Inland Revenue, you cannot re-file it because their system will reject it. Their system also rejects any file containing a negative amount. Therefore, creating a negative entry on the next months IR348 will not work.

How to make corrections

Simply fill out an Employer monthly schedule amendments (IR344) form, and send it to Inland Revenue.

You can amend up to three employees' details per form. Use separate forms if there are more than three.

If you only have a small number of adjustments, you can call Inland Revenue and update them over the phone.
