When installing software on a computer with Windows, sometimes the mapped network drives may not appear even if they are mapped in Windows.

To view these mapped network drives, you will first need to disable the User Access Control (UAC) and then reboot the computer before continuing. For more details refer to KB 30854: Disabling User Account Control (UAC)

Once this is done, you will then need to enable Linked Connections before installing any software to a network drive.

title	How to enable Linked Connections

Perform the following instructions from the computer desktop:

From the Start menu, select Run. The Run dialog appears.
Type regedit and press ENTER. The Registry Editor window opens.
Navigate to the following key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System. The contents of the System key appears.
Right-click on a blank space in the right hand pane and from the New menu select DWORD (32-bit) Value. A new DWORD is created.
Name the string EnableLinkedConnections, then press ENTER twice. The Modify String window appears.
Change the Value data to 1 and click OK. The value is changed to 1.
Close the Registry Editor and reboot the machine. The machine is now ready to install software.

For more information, refer to Microsoft KB 937624: Programs may be unable to access some network locations after you turn on User Account Control in Windows Vista or newer operating systems.

Alternatively, you can download EnableLinkedConnections Utility.exe. and right-click on the file and select Run as Administrator for it to run successfully.
