Cause

Microsoft updates have been installed which have a known issue with applications using Visual Basic (AE Reporter uses Visual Basic).

Microsoft statement

After installing this update, applications that were made using Visual Basic 6 (VB6), macros using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and scripts or apps using Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) may stop responding and you may receive an "invalid procedure call error."

Workaround

Until Microsoft releases a fix uninstall all of the following windows updates:

Microsoft have fixed the issue in the following windows updates.

Click the links and scroll to 'Known issues in this update' table for more information on how to install the fix.

Example:

If you're fixing KB4512488 on a Windows Server:

  1. Click the link and in the 'Known issue in this update' table, Microsoft has resolved the issue in KB4517298.
  2. Go to Microsoft Update Catalog and search for KB4512534.
  3. Click Download and update your windows. You may need to restart your computer if prompted.
