To be able to open BankLink client files, which have the format .BK5, you need to install the bkhandlrsetup.exe.  This establishes settings to let Windows know what BankLink software is and to open the .BK5 files with the BankLink Practice application.

How to run the bkhandlrsetup.exe

1. Open Windows Explorer or Computer and navigate to the BankLink Practice installation folder.
The files and folders in this folder display.

2. Run the bkhandlrsetup.exe file.

Note: If you are running this on a workstation or stand-alone computer ensure that the user you are logged in as, has local administrator access on the PC or alternatively right-click the bkhandlrsetup.exe and select run as administrator.  You are prompted for the administrator username and password. If you are unsure what the administrator username and/or password is please contact your IT support.

If you are using a terminal server, then run the bkhandlrsetup.exe in Install Mode while logged in to the Terminal Services Server as Administrator.  This creates the registry entry against all users' profiles.
