  • Error: "I/O Error in Routine" when loading tax tables (Australia only)

When loading the new tax tables, the following error may be displayed:

There are 2 possible causes:

  • you're not logged into Windows as an Administrator (or a user with Administrator privileges), or
  • a file in your AccountRight installation folder (Pay2Myob.bin) has its properties set to Read-only

If you're logged into Windows as an Administrator or a user with Administrator privileges, check the properties and permissions of the Pay2Myob.bin file.

 

To check the properties of the Pay2Myob.bin file
  1. Close AccountRight.
  2. Simultaneously press the Windows Image and E keys on your keyboard (the Windows Image key is between the Ctrl and Alt keys). The File Explorer or Windows Explorer window appears.
  3. Locate and open your AccountRight v19 installation folder. Here are the default installation locations. If you installed AccountRight in a different location, go to that location instead.

  4. In this folder, right-click the file called Pay2Myob.bin and choose Properties. Here's an example.

  5. On the General tab, ensure the Read-only option is not selected.

  6. Click OK
To check the permissions of the Pay2Myob.bin file
  1. Log in to your computer as a user with Administrator permissions.
  2. Simultaneously press the Windows Image and E keys on your keyboard (the Windows Image key is between the Ctrl and Alt keys). The Computer or Windows Explorer window appears. 
  3. Locate and open your AccountRight v19 installation folder. Here are the default installation locations. If you installed AccountRight in a different location, go to that location instead.

  4. Inside your folder, right-click the file pay2myob.bin and choose Properties.
  5. Click the Security tab.
  6. In Group or user names list, select Everyone.
  7. If Everyone doesn't exist, you can add it as follows:

    1. Click Add.

    2. Enter the name Everyone in the box.

    3. Click OK, then click OK again.

  8. With Everyone selected in the Group or user names area, select Allow for Full Control in the Permissions for Everyone area.

  9. Click OK.
  10. Now attempt to load your tax tables again.
