Migrating to an AE/AO ledger

This feature is not enabled for all users. If this option isn’t available in the Tasks bar, please contact your client manager to enable this feature for your practice.

You can migrate existing general ledger of the following types to an AE/AO Ledger:

  • AO Classic

  • (Australia) Accounts

  • MAS

Ledger details, Charts of Accounts and closing balances of the financial year are migrated from your existing general ledger to an AE/AO Ledger. You can migrate either:

  • the full prior-year balances
  • the partial current-year balances, including transactions for any future periods. This migrates transactions that are equal to or greater than the financial year start date as a Journal type.

Use the Select to migrate current year transactions checkbox to choose your preference when migrating data.

To be able to migrate one of your existing ledgers to an AE/AO Ledger, ensure that you:

  • have configured MYOB Logins with authorisation to migrate your existing ledger(s).

  • migrate your existing ledger(s) on the last day of the current financial year.

If migration is performed mid-year, the current year transactions are not migrated.

  • migrate your existing ledger(s) before you roll-forward to the next financial year.

Depending on the classification, the tax types are determined after the migration of your existing ledger(s):

  • Assets - CAP (Australia) / E (New Zealand)

  • Cost of Sales - GST

  • Equity - NTR

  • Expenses - GST

  • Income - GST

  • Liabilities - NTR

  • Other Expenses - NTR

  • Other Income - NTR.
