MYOB Practice now makes preparing, lodging and tracking activity statements easier, and we’ve built in new capabilities to ensure you can get it all done quickly and with no fuss.

What's new?

  • Compliance has a new look! We've moved some things around, updated the colours and made it look a little more MYOB
  • There's more status and filter options, so you can closely track the progress of activity statements
  • Your agent settings are now located in your MYOB Practice settings
  • When you prepare a new activity statement or form, you only need to assign an agent once. We'll pre-fill your agent details for every activity statement created for your client afterwards.

Already lodging with MYOB Practice? You don't need to do any setting up. You can start preparing activity statements already. You can read more about what these changes mean for you in our Activity statements upgrade FAQs.

Lodging with MYOB Practice for the first time? Getting started is easy. All you need to do is set up your Tax or BAS agent in MYOB Practice, then authorise MYOB to be your lodgment software provider. Then, you're ready to start preparing activity statements.

Set up an agent

  1. From your MYOB Practice, ATO agent settings, click Create agent.
  2. Enter your agent details, including your agent number and ABN, and click Create agent.
  3. Select the Refresh ATO details daily option so MYOB Practice can check for new data from the ATO each day and display what’s due on the Transaction processing page.

  4. Log in to the ATO Access Manager and enter the Software ID

Review your clients

  • Check that your clients’ details in MYOB Practice, like their ABN, Branch and contact details, match what appears in your ATO agent portal.
  • Link your client to their AccountRight or Essentials files, if you haven’t already.

  • Set up a client portal. With just a few clicks your clients can review their forms and officially approve them, and you’ll get notified right away, so you can lodge them faster. Go to the Portal list and then click Create portalOnce the portal is created, each user will receive an email inviting them to log in. Then you can start sending them forms for their approval.

Create an activity statement

  1. Select a client on My List. If they're not already on your list, add them now.
  2. Click Compliance on the menu bar, then click Create compliance on the top right of the page. The fields in the Create compliance window pre-fill automatically with the details of the outstanding activity statement.
  3. Click Create to start working on the activity statement.
