Australia only

The Australian Government has announced a wage subsidy scheme (dubbed JobKeeper) to help businesses to continue paying employees during the COVID-19 crisis. The JobKeeper payments will help you to maintain a connection to your employees and enable you to reactivate your operations quickly – without having to rehire staff – when the crisis is over.

The JobKeeper scheme will reimburse eligible employers up to $1500 per fortnight for each eligible employee. The scheme will run for 6 months, backdated to 1 March 2020. From the first week in May, JobSeeker payments will go to eligible employers who have registered for the scheme.

What you should do now

Check if your business and employees are eligible for JobKeeper payments by vising business.gov.au.

If eligible, you can register your interest in applying for the scheme via the ATO website.

What we're doing

Our experts are putting together information about how to handle JobKeeper payments in your MYOB software. We'll add the information here when it's ready (it shouldn't be too far away).
