MYOB Advanced Workforce Management's multi-factor authentication (MFA) system is an extra layer of protection that makes employee data safer and keeps your company up-to-date with the latest regulations and security trends. If you have Payroll management access, Workforce Management requires you to use MFA to log in, following ATO guidance. If not, you still might need to, depending on how your system is set up.

If you're required to use MFA to log in to MYOB Advanced Workforce Management, you'll get a prompt the first time you log in.

You can also use email for MFA, but this page is about using an authenticator app, the most secure option.

Logging in for the first time using MFA

When you get the MFA prompt for the first time you'll need to download an authenticator app and link it to your account.

  1. Install an authenticator app on your phone. Options include:
  2. Click Log in with codes generated by your device to generate a unique QR authentication code.
  3. Open your authenticator app and add an account.
  4. Scan the QR code on your screen, then enter the code from the app to link your Workforce Management and your phone.

MYOB Advanced Workforce Management will now open, and you'll use MFA to log in in the future.

Troubleshooting

MYOB Advanced Workforce Management uses a multi-factor authentication (MFA) step for payroll staff who log in. MFA is required for users with Manager with Payroll access, and may be required for other managers as well. Other users can also opt in to using MFA.

This means that when you log in, you’ll need to enter your usual username and password as well as a unique code that will visible in the Auth0 Guardian mobile app. You only need to do this once for each browser that you use.

This is a legal requirement from the ATO, and has the benefit of making access to your payroll-based systems more secure.

There are different ways to perform this authentication, but our recommended approach is to download the Auth0 Guardian app from the Apple or Google Play store. We've made it easy for you to download via the links below:

To set up multi-factor authentication as a manager

  1. After downloading the Auth0 app, log in to your MYOB Advanced Workforce Management account on the desktop. Click Continue when you see this screen.
  2. When the Auth0 Guardian app is running, scan the QR code that you see.
  3. Now, when you log in to MYOB Advanced Workforce Management you will be asked for a code. Open up your Guardian app and enter the number you see.

You will need to authenticate your login with a new code each time, which will be displayed in the app. This code is constantly updated to enhance your security. We recommend ticking the box Remember this device for 30 days.

To enable or disable multi-factor authentication as a user

Your user permissions might prevent you from changing your MFA settings.

  1. Log in to MYOB Advanced Workforce Management.
  2. In the top-right corner, click your username and choose My Profile.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Set the Update MFA toggle to On or Off.
