Select Maintenance > Maintenance Map from the menu.
Click Security on the Tasks bar.
Click Task Permissions. The Maintenance — Task Permissions page opens.
Select the Product from the drop-down that you want to set up the task permissions for.
Select the Group (security group) from the drop-down that you want to set up the task permissions for.
The Group Descriptions assigned to the Group are listed in the panel.
Click beside the Group Description to list the permissions for that area.
Select the checkbox in the Allow column to give permission to a task.
Deselect the checkbox in the Allow columnif you do not want to give permission for the task (or click Toggle group on/off on the Tasks bar).
Click beside the Group Description to collapse the list when you have finished setting up task permissions.
Repeat Step 6. to Step 9. to set task permissions for each remaining Group Description.
Repeat Step 5. to Step 10. for each Group (security group) in the Product.
Click OK. To save the changes and close the Maintenance — Task Permissions page.
Symbols used in security setting
Symbols are used when you add or alter task permissions to tell the system what you are referring to. The symbols are:
[ ] — brackets relate to options within a menu.
@ — ‘at’ symbols relate to the tabs within a page.
# — hash symbols relate to a function.
For example, the statement: #Client#Client Accounting#Workpapers#Delete Workpaper Period tells the system that you mean the Client page, Client Accounting tab, Workpapers tab, Delete Workpaper period function on that page.
