Prepare electronic payments

When I'm creating a bank file, I want to know straight away if any of my bank account information is missing so I can add it and create the bank file successfully.

Quickly identify and add missing account details when creating bank (ABA) files. You'll see an indicator confirming if the bank details are complete in the account you're paying from. If something's missing, you can easily add it.

Invoicing

When I'm emailing an invoice, I want it to automatically attach a PDF so that I my customer doesn't have to download it.

  • Email invoice PDFs. When you email an invoice a PDF version is automatically attached.

When I'm creating an invoice, I want MYOB Business to remember my tax setting, so that I don't have to remember to set it each time and avoid mistakes.

  • Set and forget invoice options. MYOB Business remembers whether or not your invoice amounts are tax inclusive and whether you email a copy to yourself. Next time you create an invoice it will use the same settings.

I want duplicate or email an invoice from a locked period, without having to change my lock date settings.

  • Duplicate or email an invoice from a locked period, without having to change lock date settings.

Invoicing - Allow invoices to be emailed or duplicated before a lock date where no changes have been made.

Now gives the user the ability to email or duplicate an invoice that is before the lock date so that they can save time from manually entering the details

Invoicing - Attach invoice as PDF when emailing the invoice to customer

Invoices are now automatically attached as a PDF document, when you click on the “email invoice” button.

Invoicing - Remember GST inclusive or exclusive in invoice creation screen

“Tax inc/exc” setting is remembered based on its value in the last invoice/quote that users emailed.

Invoicing - Remember the option for 'email me a copy' in Email Invoice/Quote screen

Field invoice “Type” was previously removed from the filter list in the invoices screen, this has now been added back.

Reports

Reports - “Payment” or “Refund” added to the GST Return report to ensure it’s clearer whether customers are receiving a GST return or are required to make a payment.

The word “Payment” or “Refund” is included directly under the amount in MYOB Business, to reflect Old EA

Reports - Receivables with Tax and Payables with Tax reports have been enhanced to include outstanding invoices & bills which make up the Total Amount Outstanding and the Ageing Period.

Receivables and Payables with Tax reports improved to include outstanding invoices & bills which make up the Total Amount Outstanding and the ageing period.

Reports - General Ledger: Tax amount column now in the expandable list and in summary view.

General Ledger updated with the ‘Tax amount’ column now available in the summary and is set as default for both summary and expanded views, brining it in line with Old Essentials.

Error messages

When a user encounters a deployment downtime related error (ECONNRESET or ECONNREFUSED), they will receive the following error message: "We are currently performing a system upgrade and should be back online in about 15 minutes. We apologise for the inconvenience."

Bug fixes

Reports - The cash mode drill-down modal for the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss and Cash Movement reports showed the wrong transaction records in certain scenarios.

Bug Fix! The cash drill-down modal for the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss and Cash Movement reports showed the wrong transaction records when a customer or supplier return is applied to a sale or purchase. This has been resolved.

the Balance Sheet, Profit & Loss and Cash Movement reports now show the correct transactions

Reports - Profit & Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Movement reports in cash mode have incorrect beginning and ending Balances in the transaction drill down modal.

Bug Fix! When a user drills into cash transactions from the Profit and Loss, Balance Sheet and Cash Movement, the beginning and ending balances that appear at the top of the transaction modal were inaccurate as they report on accrual mode instead of cash mode. This has now been resolved.

Reports - GST Report (browser) Consolidated tax codes are not displayed correctly.

Bug Fix! The tax codes which make up the consolidated tax codes are now shown separately on the GST Report, aligning with ARL desktop and ensuring BAS compliance, as customers need to report on each tax code separately (eg. GST and WET).

When I run a GST report I want the consolidated tax codes to be reported separately so that I can report them to the ATO.

  • Each tax code in a consolidated tax code is now displayed separately in the GST report. This makes it easier to report these amounts to the ATO.

Reports - Payables with tax report the report shows the payable record as expected when the supplier balance is Zero.

Bug Fix! Even though the total supplier balance is NIL, the report now shows all the unpaid bills on the Payables with tax report when users run the report before the payment date of bills. VHNP-375: [Payables with tax report] the report doesn't show the payable record as expected when the supplier balance is Zero

Reports - Balance Sheet: GST Clearing Account included in the balance sheet in Cash & Accrual Mode

Bug Fix! GST balance account account now display under liabilities in the Balance Sheet in Cash & Accrual mode VHNP-390: GST Clearing Account is missing from balance sheet in Cash & Accrual Mode

Migrations Old to New Essentials -Transaction set as Read-Only when GST Override used in Old Essentials and migrated to MYOB Business.

Bug Fix! Old Essentials and ARL both allow overriding of tax amounts on transactions. If Tax override was used in Old EA or ARL; and the transaction is opened in New EA, the Tax component was displayed incorrectly in the UI (the underlying data and reports were OK, this was a UI issue only). The fix is, if there is an overridden tax amount then the transaction is marked as read only.
