A detailed breakdown of WIP is shown on the screen when you are creating a bill for a client. There are a number of ways to analyse WIP before billing.
Prebilling reports are used to see a printed report of work done for a client up to a specified date. The report can be used as the basis for creating a bill for a client, or as an alternative to making allocations on the Billing screen.
Prebilling reports are generated for a client and will show all WIP for that client. Where a client is a parent client, all WIP recorded for their child clients will also be included. Four prebilling reports are available:
By type [task code]
In MYOB AO Classic in New Zealand, you would have known these as workcodes
By employee
By month
By group (billing groups)
This guide outlines the process for preparing a prebilling report from the Client page > Jobs tab.
Select one of the four prebilling reports from the list on the Tasks bar according to how you want the client WIP categorised. The Report fields window opens.
Enter the end date. The system will default to today’s date, you can change this if necessary.
Click OK. The report runs and opens in a new window.
