Before you can perform backups, you must:

  • configure the correct permissions for any Security Groups that need to perform backups.

By default, the predefined Administrator security group has access to perform backups.

To configure security groups for backups
  1. Select Maintenance > Maintenance Map from the menu.
  2. Click Security on the Tasks bar.
  3. Click Task Permissions. The Maintenance — Task Permissions page opens.
  4. Select Central from the Product drop-down.
  5. Select the Group (security group) from the drop-down that you want to set up the task permissions for. The Group Descriptions assigned to the Group are listed in the panel.
  6. Click Button_-_Expand_2.gif beside the Maintenance to list the permissions for that area. The list expands and displays a checkbox in the Allow column.
  7. Click the Allow checkbox for:
    • [Maintenance][Backup]

    • #Backup#ReceiveFailureNotification. 

  8. Click OK. The changes are saved and the Maintenance Task Permissions page closes.
