In MYOB BankLink you can create reporting groups by selecting multiple chart of account codes and assign them all to the same report group.

Where multiple clients have similar business activities, a master chart of accounts can be created. This chart of accounts can then be used by these clients by merging the chart of accounts into the client files.

To assign multiple chart of account codes to report groups
  1. Open the client file in BankLink Practice.
  2. Select the menu options Other Functions > Chart of Accounts > Maintain Chart. 
  3. Click Show Quick Set. The Maintain Chart of Accounts window opens displaying information on the Chart of Account codes.
  4. Select the Chart of Account codes to assign to the report groups.
    • Whole Range Selection:  Hold down the Shift key then click the first account code then select the last account code.  All the codes contained in this range will be highlighted.
    • Custom/Part Range Selection:  To select chart of account codes that are not all in one part of the chart, hold down the CTRL key and select any codes you wish to assign the same report group. 
  5. At the Group field press the drop down arrow to assign the report group that applies to those codes. 
  6. Continue to assign Report Groups to all of the Chart of Accounts codes.
  7. When complete, close the Maintain Chart of Accounts window. Your changes will be saved.
To merge the Chart of Accounts with other client files

To merge this chart of accounts with other client files and make any necessary changes, complete the following:

  1. Open a new Client File.
  2. Select the following menu options Other Functions > Chart of Accounts > Maintain Chart
  3. Click Merge. Your existing clients are listed. 
  4. Click the Master Client File that you want to merge the Chart of Accounts from. 
  5. If applicable, select the option Merge divisions and Sub-Groups.
  6. Click OK. The Chart of Accounts will load the Master Client File into this Client File
  7. Review and make any changes to the Chart of Accounts from the Maintain Chart of Accounts window. 
  8. When complete, close the Maintain Chart of Accounts window. Your changes will be saved.
