Whilst upgrading BankLink Practice you may receive the error "Cannot check for updates, please try again later".

This error occurs when the software cannot can't communicate with the BankLink servers to download the update file. Download the upgrade file externally to obtain the installation file and complete the upgrade.

How to download the upgrade file

Note: We've provided the update file below which you can download and complete the upgrade.

Before you begin

Ensure all users are logged out of BankLink Practice prior to performing

these steps

the steps below.

  • Click the link that applies to your country and select Save.
    BankLink Practice Update - New Zealand
    BankLink Practice Update - Australia
    The Save As window appears.
  • Navigate to and select the Desktop and click Save.
    The files is saved to the Desktop.
  • Double-click the file saved on the Desktop.
    The upgrade wizard opens.
  • Follow through the prompts on this wizard to perform the installation.
    The installation is completed.
  • Open BankLink Practice and from the Help menu select About.

    When installing the upgrade, you'll need to specify your current installed location of BankLink Practice.

    If you know the installed location, continue to the next task (Download and install the upgrade).

    If you don't know where BankLink Practice is currently installed, complete the following:

    1. Open BankLink Practice.
    2. Go to the Help menu and choose About. The About BankLink Practice window appears
    showing the version number as the updated version.

     

    Note: While progressing through the steps of the upgrade wizard you need to specify your current installed location of BankLink Practice. If you do not know

    , please perform the following steps. While identifying this folder, cancel and close out of the upgrade wizard then once you have identified the location of BankLink Practice, restart the upgrade wizard.

    How to identify the installed location

    Open BankLink Practice and from the Help menu select About.

    1. Right-click the applicable link for your location and choose to save the file to your Desktop:

      BankLink Practice Update - Australia
    2. Double-click the downloaded file on the Desktop. The upgrade wizard opens.
    3. Follow the prompts to complete the installation.
    4. When the installation is complete, open BankLink Practice.
    5. Go to the Help menu and choose About. The About BankLink Practice window appears.
    The current location where BankLink Practice is installed is displayed at the bottom of the window under the heading BankLink Practice Folder
    1. Confirm the version number is the updated version.
