The error "Error 276 : Unable to connect to BankLink Online" is caused by invalid root certificates on the workstation from which you are attempting to use Windows XP workstations using BankLink Books.

Root certificates are security certificates given to various devices to identify them as safe devices to communicate with. If this is out of date BankLink does not communicate with the workstation as it is deemed as not secure.

  1. Click the link:
    http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=29434
    The Microsoft article page opens.
  2. Click the Download button and then do one of the following:
    Click Run to start the installation immediately.
    OR
    Click Save to copy the download to your computer for installation at a later time.
    When you run the installation, the installation wizard opens.
  3. Click through the prompts.
  4. Open BankLink Books and attempt to send or receive a file via BankLink Online.

Microsoft support for Windows XP stopped in April 2014. As such, there is no update available to resolve this error. The only solution is to update to a later Windows version.
