Toolbar

The toolbar, which is situated at the top of the window below the main menu, consists of a row of buttons which you use to access the main parts of the MYOB AO.

The following standard toolbar buttons are available. The available buttons change depending on which applications you purchased.

Open your Home page, which is your default view. This is the Find Clients page unless you change it in your display options using View > Display Options.

List your clients on the Find Clients page where you can search for and open a client to see their details. You can search by client name, code, IRD (New Zealand), TFN/ABN (Australia). In addition you can group and filter your list and perform common client tasks.

Click the grey arrow at the bottom of the button to open a menu of items that allow you to:

create new clients, contacts and employees
open a list of clients, contacts or employees
quickly access the common reports for clients and contacts.

Open your current timesheet on the Timesheet Entry page where you can record the time spent on your jobs. Calendar and date navigation tools on this page allow you to navigate to your prior timesheets.

Click the grey arrow at the bottom of the button to open a menu of items that allow you to:

record your disbursements and practice disbursements
(Australia) import data from SoftLog or Billback disbursements software
transfer WIP between clients and jobs
quickly access the common reports for timesheets.

Timesheets are only available if you purchased Practice Manager.

Lists your draft bills on the Draft Bills page where you can search for and open a draft bill to see the details. You can search by draft number or date, filter the list for all or specific companies and you can group and sort the bills.

Click the grey arrow at the bottom of the button to open a menu of items that allow you to:

access the Billing Wizard to create a new draft bill
view billing histories
display a list of bills that are ready to print
quickly access the common reports for billing.

View the Debtors Ledger with no client selected.

Click the grey arrow at the bottom of the button to open a menu of items that allow you to:

enter debtors adjustments and receipts
print adjustments and tax receipts
create a bank deposit slip
quickly access the common reports for debtors.

Open a list of Jobs to help you maintain and manage jobs and deadlines. Jobs are managed using a deadline management tool which allows users to track the progress of jobs using specified milestones.

The Tax icon is only available if you have purchased and registered the Tax module.

Australian Tax

List the current year tax returns on the Tax Client - Search grid. This grid show the status of the tax returns and allows you to search for and open a client’s tax return.

Click the grey arrow at the bottom of the button to open a menu of items that allow you to:

list the tax returns due for lodgment within 30 days for the employee who is logged in
list the current year Company, Fund and SMSF returns
list the activity statements for the current year
display the monthly lodgment statistics in a graphical format.

New Zealand Tax

List the current year tax clients on the Find Tax Client page. This grid show the status of the tax returns and allows you to search for and open a client’s tax return.

Click the grey arrow at the bottom of the button to open a menu of items that allow you to:

list all tax notices for all tax clients for a selected month
monitor the filing statistics for the practice
list the clients in your practice who have missed their payments within a specified date range
see the data that is downloaded from the IRD during your scheduled downloads.

Open the Reports page.

Click the grey arrow at the bottom of the button to open a menu of items that allow you to:

display and manage your favourite reports
export reports for backup purposes
import additional reports.

Open the Practice KPI page to see KPI and other statistical information about financial and productivity measures and accessing the Aged WIP and Aged Debt lists.
