The client will need to ensure the client file is Read-Only prior to following these steps. Refer to KB Article "When trying to get client file, got message 'Client file is not read only or is an offsite" for more information on how to make a Client File Read-Only.

If this is the clients first time getting a file using from BankLink Online using Enhanced Client File Handling (ECFH), they will need to do the following:

1. Click 'Get Client File' in BankLink Books, select From BankLink Online.

2. Click 'Edit connection' on the top right hand corner of the window

3. Enter the Subdomain, Username and temporary password. This information should have been sent to the clients email address

4. After entering the temporary password a new window will come up for them to choose a new password, enter this then click OK

Once the connection has been established, The client will need to do the following to get the client file via BankLink Online when needed:

1. Open BankLink Books

2. Click 'Get Client File' and select From BankLink Online

3. A window will come up with a list of clients available to retrieve from BankLink Online

4. Click the client file you wish to get so that it is highlighted blue, and click OK

5. This will import the client file from BankLink Online, and the Online Status will be updated to 'Downloaded by Books' in BankLink Practice
