This article will step you through the process of editing the date of a journal within MYOB BankLink Practice.
However, if a journal in BankLink is dated in a period that has already been finalised or locked, these journals cannot be edited.
To edit the date of a journal please perform the following process:
Open the required client file.
Locate and double click on the journal entry you want to edit. The Cash Journal will open and show the date of that journal.
Ensure you are in edit mode, by checking the bottom left hand corner of the screen.
If the words All Editable Columns appear, you are in edit mode.
If the do not appear, click on Restricted to accounts once. This will change this to appear as All Editable Columns, placing you in edit mode.
Click on the Date field of the journal and enter the new date. If the date entered is not for the same month, the following message appears: This date is outside the current date range, the date range will be expanded to include it. Click OK and proceed to Step 5.
If the date entered is for a finalised period, the following error will appear: Finalised entries exist in the month you have selected. You cannot add a journal to a finalised period.
Please select a valid date in a non-finalised period and proceed to Step 5.
