Activating your Payroll software protects against software piracy and provide reassurance that you're using an authentic product that can be trusted with your valuable business data. Once activated, each Payroll company file needs to be periodically confirmed.

When you create a new Payroll company file, as shown in the example below, you will be asked to "Activate" your file.
Activation can be carried out Online OR by phone, or you can activate your Payroll company file later.
If you choose to activate later you will be given 90 days to do so. If this period elapses your file will become read-only.
The confirmation process is carried out on a periodic basis for activated Payroll company files. When prompted to confirm your file, you'll have 14 days to do so before the file becomes read-only.
If Payroll is set to automatically confirm but the confirmation keeps failing
If the internet is down or there is a temporary issue with our activation/confirmation service, it may be necessary to deselect your option to confirm automatically.
- Go to the Tools menu and choose Options.as shown below.
- Click the System tab.
- Deselect the option Use automated online Payroll data file confirmation then click Licence as shown below.
- At the following message, click Yes.
- Select the option I want to confirm my Payroll data file by phone then click Next as shown below.
You will now be able to successfully confirm your Payroll company file via the phone option.
