Alerts are automatically generated warnings that highlight any issues that may affect the tax amount due for a client. You should investigate any alerts before you send a tax notice to your client.
Select Tax Notices from the Tax icon drop-down menu. The Tax Notices page opens.
Select a Due Date from the drop-down list.
Click Search. The list of clients with tax notices due for the date you selected are displayed on the screen.
Check the Alerts column. If there is an alert for a tax notice, Yes will be displayed.
To help you find all the clients with an alert, you can either:
Click on the Alerts column heading and drag it to the grey group bar at the top of the list. This will group all the tax notices with the same value (Yes or No) in the Alerts column together.
Click in the empty filter row at the top of the Alerts column and enter Yes (or select Yes from the drop-down). Press [Enter] and only tax notices with an alert will be displayed. OR
Click on the Alerts heading twice to sort the list in reverse order, so all the tax notices with alerts are shown at the top of the list.
Click the IRD number for the client that has the alert. Tax Manager opens and displays the Tax notice details screen which lists the Alerts and notifications. You need to investigate alerts before sending tax notices. See Common alerts and solutions for details in investigating and resolving alerts.
