Default task codes (AU)

There are default task codes in MYOB AO but you can add more to suit your practice. Each task has a short code in the system that represents a short name and description of the task. The task codes are used to define the allocation, completion, budgeting, milestones, time and expenses and reporting requirements of tasks involved with client jobs.

MYOB AO Classic Work Codes (NZ)

Code Types are what you knew as work codes in MYOB AO Classic.

In MYOB AO Classic you had a set range of numbers to use for the following:

  • 000 - 099   Non chargeable

  • 100 -899    Standard Chargeable work

  • 900 - 999   Disbursements

In MYOB AO you can choose to keep this set range and continue to use numbers for your task codes or they can be edited to be alpha instead. We recommended that you either select numbers or alpha for the codes and not a mixture, as this will make it easier during data entry.

Non chargeable work codes 000 - 099 are not converted from MYOB AO Classic. If you use non chargeable work codes against clients, you will need to set up non chargeable code types that employees can book time to.
