When the return is validated, MYOB AO will provide a list of the ELS validation errors, notes and warnings detected in the return and schedules attached to the return. All validation errors must be corrected before MYOB AO will pass the return for ELS lodgment.

When all ELS Validation errors have been resolved you can mark the return as complete which locks the return from editing. The completed return is ready for ELS lodgment but must first be reviewed by the Agent and approved by your client who must then sign the Electronic Lodgment Declaration (ELD).

To validate and complete the return
  1. Click AO-GS-Button-Tax.png on the MYOB AO tool bar to open the Tax — Client Search page.
  2. Locate the return for which you want the taxation estimate.
  3. Click Validate on the Tasks bar.
The ELS Validity Test runs and the Validation summary window opens. Any errors or warnings which have been found by the ELS Validity Test are marked in the list:
    • AO-GS-Icon-ValidationError.png — All errors must be resolved before the tax return will validate successfully.

    • AO-GS-Icon-ValidationWarning.png — Warning messages will not prevent a tax return from being validated successfully, but notify you of items that may have been missed during preparation.

  1. Click to select the error or warning and then
    1. click Details to view more information on the error / warning.

    2. click Goto or double-click the AO-GS-Icon-ValidationGoto.png to open the item which must be corrected. When you go to the item you exit the Validation summary and you must click AO_GettingStarted_Tax_AUS00024.jpgValidate again. Once all the errors have been resolved a Complete button appears.

  2. Click Complete to mark the return as complete and lock the return from editing.
