When opening AE Reporter, you might see the following error:

Environment Error - 2147220991
Error Launching Professional Reporter
stack: link.mMainLink.Main
S6RpStorage
5: Invalid procedure or argument.

Cause

Microsoft updates have been installed which have a known issue with applications using Visual Basic (AE Reporter uses Visual Basic).

Microsoft is investigating the issue, for additional information please click the links below.

Microsoft statement

After installing this update, applications that were made using Visual Basic 6 (VB6), macros using Visual Basic for Applications (VBA), and scripts or apps using Visual Basic Scripting Edition (VBScript) may stop responding and you may receive an "invalid procedure call error."

Workaround

Until Microsoft releases a fix uninstall all of the following windows updates:

Windows 10
KB4512508
KB4507435

Microsoft have fixed the issue in the following windows updates. Click the links and scroll to 'Known issues in this update' table for more information on how to install the fix.
