The JobMaker Hiring Credit scheme is a government incentive for businesses to employ additional young job seekers aged 16–35 years.

If eligible, your business can access the JobMaker Hiring Credit for each eligible additional employee hired between 7 October 2020 and 6 October 2021.

For all the details, visit the ATO website.

Key points

Here's some handy info from the ATO:

  • You can claim JobMaker payments from the ATO in arrears from 1 February 2021 (see all key dates).
  • You can claim payments for eligible additional employees for up to 12 months from their employment start date.
  • Payments are $200/week for eligible additional employees aged 1629, and $100/week for those aged 3035.
  • You cannot claim JobKeeper and JobMaker at the same time.

What do I need to do?

Check if your business is eligible for JobMaker. If eligible, you'll need to register for JobMaker with the ATO.

DO NOT manually create pay items for JobMaker—they won't be reported to the ATO. We're working on updates that'll take care of this for you.

What's MYOB doing?

We're working with the ATO to ensure MYOB Essentials is updated to help you manage JobMaker. We'll update this topic as soon as we have more details.
