Time Setup in AE is used to set up the time processing categories used for employee timesheets. It is also used to set up and maintain the accounting years and periods as well as control the method for authorising timesheets.
Time Setup in AO is used to close accounting periods and set a Timesheet Lock Date.
Where you run weekly reports and reconcile them, The Timesheet Lock Date can be used lock off all entries up to the reconciled report date so that staff can't make any changes to their timesheets or disbursements as well as stop staff from backdating any bills and entering receipts prior to the lock date.
