If you know your current MYOB Essentials password and want to change it for security or other reasons, you can do so at any time.

If you forget 've forgotten your current password when trying to log in to MYOB Essentials, you can reset it.

To change your password from within MYOB Essentials

  1. In MYOB Essentials, click your business name and choose Users.

    The Users page appears, with a list of all the users for your MYOB Essentials business.
  2. Click Change my password.
  3. Click Change my password now.
  4. Sign in with your current password and you will be prompted to enter a New password.You're prompted to re-enter your current password.
  5. Re-enter your current Password and click Sign in.
  6. Enter a New password. As you type, you'll be guided on the strength of your new password.
  7. Click Update password. Your password is now updated.

To reset your password

If you’re trying to log in to MYOB Essentials and receive a message that says you’ve entered an invalid user name or password, you may have entered either your user name or password incorrectly.

First, make sure that the user name you entered 're entering is the same as the one you received in the activation email when you registered your MYOB Essentials business. Then, make sure you’ve entered your password correctly. Remember that passwords are case sensitive.

If you’re sure that your user name is correct, it may be that the password you’re using is incorrect. In this situation, you can reset your password.

  1. Go to the MYOB Essentials login page (Australian users: essentials.
  2. Click the Forgot your password? link at the bottom of the page. The Forgot your password? page appears.
  3. Enter your Business ID and User name.
    You can find these details in the activation email you were sent when you registered your MYOB Essentials business.
  4. Click Submit.

    If you receive a message stating that your forgotten password request has failed and that you may have entered your user name incorrectly, it means that the User name you entered is not registered with MYOB Essentials. Double-check your user name and click Click here to try again.

    MYOB Essentials will automatically reset your password to a new, temporary password, and email it to your nominated email address.

  5. Check your email for an email from MYOB with the subject ‘Your MYOB Essentials account password has been reset’.
    The email contains your user name, and your new, temporary password.
  6. Click the Login page link in the email and enter the User name and Password provided in the email to log in.

  7. Complete the steps in To change your password to change your temporary passwordmyob.com.au | New Zealand users: essentials.myob.co.nz)
  8. At the sign in prompt, click Forgotten your password?

  9. Enter your Email address and click Continue. You'll be sent an email containing a reset code.
  10. Open the email and copy or take a note of the reset code.

  11. Enter or paste the reset code into the Code field on the Reset your password prompt.

  12. Enter a New password and click Update password.
