When you uninstall RetailManager, parts of the software might be left behind which can interfere with future RetailManager installations. For example, after uninstalling RetailManager it still might be shown in your list of installed programs. Or maybe you're trying to install RetailManager but a message advises that it's already installed - but it's not!

This can happen to any program, not just RetailManager, and it's related to the way Windows uninstalls programs. Because it's related to Windows, Microsoft have an online Fix It tool which can automatically fix the problem.

Before you begin

To use Microsoft's Fix It tool you'll need to log in to your computer as an administrator or a user with administrator access.

Using the RetailManager registry cleaner
  1. Using the Microsoft "Fix it" tool

The Fix It tool is available on the Microsoft support website. It finds and fixes any issues which might be preventing programs installing or uninstalling on your computer.

To use the Fix It tool

    1. Click this link to open the Microsoft support site: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/mats/program_install_and_uninstall Information about the Fix It tool is displayed.
    2. Click Run Now. The Fix It tool opens and guides you through the process.
    3. Follow the prompts and choose the Recommended fix option.
    4. Choose whether you're having trouble Installing or Uninstalling a program. The Fix It tool checks your computer for problems.
    5. Follow the prompts to fix any identified issues.

If you're still having trouble installing or uninstalling AccountRight after using the Fix It tool, try the AccountRight registry key remover below.

From the table below, right-click the link for the RetailManager version you've uninstalled and choose Save Target As (or Save Link As).

  2. Save the file to your Desktop.
  3. Double-click the downloaded file to run the registry cleaner.

  4. When the process has finished, restart your computer. You should now be able to reinstall RetailManager.

Running the Microsoft "Fix it" utility

Some installation issues can be fixed by running the Microsoft "Fix it" utility. This tool, freely available from the Microsoft website, diagnoses problems that can prevent installing and uninstalling programs on your computer.

Because the Fix it utility is provided by Microsoft, MYOB can't provide assistance with its use, nor take responsibility for the outcome of using this tool.
