Instead of deleting an item (which removes it from MYOB Essentials for good), it's a good idea to make the item inactive. This removes the item from reports and some selection lists.

Inactive items retain details you may need some day, and you can always make the item active again if needed.

To make an item inactive

In the items list, find the item you want to make inactive and double-click it. The Item window appears, showing the item details.
Click Make inactive to save the item as inactive.
The Items page reappears, and the inactive item now shows in grey.

You can make an inactive item active again by repeating these steps on the item and clicking Make active.
