Accountants Enterprise with Practice Manager only

The Time Processing Category is a period for which bills and timesheets can be posted. Examples of categories are:

  • Daily

  • Weekly

  • Fortnightly

  • Monthly

  • Quarterly.

System administrators create categories and define one for each employee using Maintenance > Time Setup > Time Processing Categories.

When you create a timesheet or expense sheet, the system automatically generates a sheet that uses the category pre-defined by your system administrator. The category translates to a time period shown in the Create New Sheet window when you create a timesheet or an expense sheet.

To set up or edit time processing categories
  1. Select MaintenanceTime Setup > Time Processing Categories on the main menu or MaintenanceMaintenance MapTime Setup > Time Processing Categories. The Time Processing Categories page opens.

  2. Enter the Description in the first blank row at the top of the table. The description is limited to a maximum of 50 alphanumeric characters.

  3. Enter the Time Processing Category Type or select one from the drop-down.

  4. If required, enter a Note about the highlighted category. If the category you are editing has a note attached, the note is displayed in the Notes section and can be edited. Any employees currently using the highlighted category are listed in the Employees section.

  5. Press [Enter] to add more Time Processing Categories.

  6. Click OK to save changes and close the Time Processing Categories page.


To delete a time processing category

You cannot delete a time processing category that is in use.

  1. Select MaintenanceTime Setup > Time Processing Categories on the main menu or MaintenanceMaintenance MapTime Setup > Time Processing Categories. The Time Processing Categories page opens.

  2. Click the row containing the time processing category you want to delete.

  3. Click to highlight the entire row. Any employees currently using the highlighted category are listed in the Employees section.

  4. Press [Delete]. A Confirm Delete message is displayed.

  5. Click Yes.

  6. Click OK to save changes and close the Time Processing Categories page.
