From the Transaction list page (accessible via the Banking menu) you can find transactions. You can search for a particular type of transaction and for a selected period.

You can also add transactions.

The list includes all transactions received from your bank, as well as all transactions you’ve entered into <PRODUCT NAME>MYOB Essentials</>.

To find a transaction

To find a transaction

  1. From the Banking menu, choose Transaction list. The Transaction list page appears.
  2. In the Source Journal field, choose the appropriate journal.

    A journal is simply a way to organise your accounting entries. All entries are grouped into journals: General, Sales, Purchases, Cash Payments, Cash Receipts, or Inventory. For more information, see Source journals.

    If you're not sure what journal to choose, then choose All.

  3. In the From and To fields, select a date range.

  4. (Optional) Enter text to search in the Description field.
  5. Click Apply. Any transactions that meet your search criteria will be displayed. You can then click the reference number of the transaction to view its details or edit it.

  1. From the Banking menu, choose Transaction list. The Transaction list page appears.
  2. Click Add transaction and choose the type of transaction you want to enter:

Source journals

Source journals organise your accounting entries. They make it easier for you and your accountant or bookkeeper to find transactions in your software.

In the Transaction list window, you can narrow your search for transactions by choosing a journal in the Source Journal field.

Here's a guide to the source journals and the types of transactions that are stored in them:

Generaldepreciation of assets, year-end adjustments, income distributions
Cash paymentsmoney paid out, for example, purchase receipts, cheque stubs
Cash receiptsmoney received, for example, cash register sales, receipts
Salessales made on credit

If you're not sure which journal to choose, then choose All in the Source Journal field.
