If you've received an email from MYOB announcing the end of the additional data file discount for subscriptions your practice pays, and you want to cancel a subscription for an AccountRight company file, this help topic explains how.

Not sure whether to cancel a company file? For other company file options, including downgrading to a cheaper AccountRight product or moving to MYOB Business, visit the Update to the AccountRight additional file discount website.

Before you cancel a company file...
You’ll need to request your cancellation by submitting a support request form through MYOB Practice. When you request a cancellation, you'll get a confirmation email, and we'll get back to you with a response as soon as we can. Please note that we require 10 calendar days' notice before your next billing date to process your cancellation (please refer to the AccountRight Terms of Use)

Cancel an AccountRight company file subscription

Ready to go?

  1. Sign into MYOB Practice.

  2. Click the Help button () in the left menu bar to display help and support options.

  3. Click Log a support call.
  4. Complete your contact information, including your Partner Client ID.
  5. Enter the Client Serial Number.
  6. From the Product drop-down, choose Online Partner/Connected Accounting.

  7. From the Sub Product drop-down, choose AccountRight.

  8. In the Subject field, enter a description of the request, like 'Cancel company file subscription'.
  9. In the Issue Description, enter any additional details, like the name of the company file.

    Refer to the email you received from MYOB with details on which files are affected by the discount ending. 

    Your support request should look a bit like this:

     

  10. Select I'm not a robot and click Next.

  11. On the Upload a file page, select No.
  12. Click Next and Finish in the message that appears.

  13. Repeat from step 2 for any other files you want to cancel.

Once you've completed the support request, you'll get a confirmation email, and we'll get back to you with a response as soon as we can.

MYOB can recover a company file and reinstate a subscription within 60 days of it having been cancelled. Please contact our team and we'll be happy to help.

What other options do I have instead of cancelling?

What other options do I have instead of cancelling?

Instead of cancelling a company file subscription, you can:

  • downgrade the file to a cheaper AccountRight product

    Depending on the product you're downgrading from and to, you may lose some features. For example, if you downgrade from AccountRight Premier to AccountRight Plus, you'll lose multiple stock locations and multicurrency features.

  • move your company file data to MYOB Business
  • continue to use your company file with the current subscription. You'll be billed the new subscription rate for all additional files at your next billing cycle.
