Setting up your Practice

This section covers the basic configuration tasks to set up your practice in MYOB AO. It is not essential to complete the setup activities before you use other features of MYOB AO. The features you need to configure are:

Configuring ELS communication setup	Before using ELS.
Setting up Practice Manager
Setting up the address information for your practice	Before preparing debtors statements.
Modifying your invoice templates	Before preparing bills.
Setting up Master Paragraphs	Before preparing bills.
Checking non chargeable/unavailable Job Types	Before preparing productivity reports and graphs.
Checking converted debtors entries (NZ)	Before preparing reports.
Setting up Client Accounting
Configuring the client	Before running Client Accounting.
Configuring the Accounting Product Locations	Before running Client Accounting.
Configuring the Practice Report Settings	Before using Statutory Reporter.
Configuring Task Permissions for Client Accounting	Before using Client Accounting, Statutory Reporter or Workpapers.
Setting up Employees
Setting up mailing names	If you want employees to use letter writing.
Checking converted employee details (NZ)	If you stored employee middle names and personal information (for example, address) in MYOB AO Classic.
Checking converted employee security groups (NZ)	If you upgraded from MYOB AO Classic and you either: Did not have security groups, OR Had multiple security groups set up, You need to check the employee security groups.
Setting up backups	Before running backups.
