You will receive an email from your accountant when they have created a general task for you to complete. This may or may not include supporting documentation.

Instructions to view a general task from your email invitation
  1. Click View Task in the email from your accountant. You will then be directed to your portal.

    A message at the bottom of the email lets you know what email address to use to access your collaborative portal. This email is the one your accountant has for you.
  2. Click the appropriate Sign in button to use your existing MYOB account or your Google account.

    If you don't have an MYOB account, you can create one. Click Sign up and see How do I create an MYOB account? for more info.

  3. Enter your username and password, then press Enter.

    If you've been given access to more than one collaborative portal, you automatically have access to the appropriate portal.

    You'll now have access to the Tasks tab of your portal which will display the specific details of the task that your accountant has assigned to you.

  4. View the details of the task and open and review any attached documents.
    You can open any attached documents by clicking on the document to view it in your PDF viewer.

  5. When you have completed the task and you want to add comments or ask your accountant questions, enter your queries in the text box in the Activity section.
    You can enter up to 5000 characters in your comment.
    The text box contains a simple rich text editor enabling you to format the email message to your accountant. For example, you're able to enter a new line of text, bold text and retain all the formatting.

    1. Attach supporting documentation by clicking the ??? icon.

    2. Click Add comment.

An email will be sent to your accountant letting them know that you've added a comment to the task. If you leave the page without clicking Add comment, you'll get a message letting you know that you haven't saved your comment and giving you the option to save it.

Instructions to view a general task from the task details
  1. Access your portal.

    You may have already bookmarked the url which will be something like https://practicename.portal.accountants,  where practicename is the name of your accountant’s company.

  2. Click the Tasks tab.
  3. Click the selected task. The task details display.
  4. View the information displayed for the general task and open any attached documents.
    You can open any attached documents by clicking on the document to view it in your PDF viewer.
  5. If you have any questions for your accountant or you want to comment on the task or attached document(s), enter your queries in the text box in the Activity section.
