Until an alternative selection is made the Tax returns due for lodgment lists returns due within 30 days for the employee who is currently logged on.

MYOB AO uses due date from the Return Properties PAYG/Lodge tab to determine the returns that are due for lodgment.

From the right-click menu choose to filter the returns displayed:

FilterDescription
Partner, Manager or EmployeeView the returns assigned to the employee currently logged into MYOB AO.
PracticeSelect Practice to view all the returns which have been created for the practice regardless of employee assignment.
RangeYou can select to view returns that are Overdue, Due in 30 days, Due in 60 Days, Due in 90 Days, Not Lodged, Lodged Late, Lodged On-time, Not Required, Lodged or All (no range filtering is set). The range values for Lodged Late, Lodged On-time and Not Required have been introduced to assist with managing the 85% On-time lodgment requirement.
Current YearSelect to view those returns for the current year.
Prior YearSelect to view those returns for the prior year.

Filtering examples

View all returns assigned to you as an employee, for the current year

Right-click the table and select Employee, Range > All and Current Year on the popup menu.

View all returns assigned to you as a partner, due in 30 days

Right-click the table and select Partner, Range > Due in 30 Days and Current Year on the popup menu.

View all returns for the practice, for the current year

Right-click the table and select Practice, Range > All and Current Year on the popup menu.

Tax returns due for lodgment table

The Tax Returns Due for Lodgment table lists all those returns which match the filtering options that have been applied to the page.

The columns on the Tax Returns Due for Lodgment table are chosen from the Field chooser. They may include:

Field

Description

Return Name

Click the Return Name to open the return in Tax.

Client Code

A unique code used to identify the client. Click the Client Code to open and view the client on the Client page.

Status

The current status of the return. The return's status can be Not started, In Progress. Sent for signature, or Lodged. See Return status levels.

TFN

The Tax File Number on the return.

Form Type

The type of return.

Date Due

The date the return is to be lodged as set in the Return Properties.

Days Due

The number of days before the return is due to be lodged. Overdue days will appear in brackets () in red.

Completed

The date on which the return was marked as complete.

Partner

The partner assigned on the Responsibility tab on the Client page.

Manager

The manager assigned on the Responsibility tab on the Client page.

Employee

The employee assigned on the Responsibility tab on the Client page.

Date Lodged

The date the return's status was set to 'lodged'.

Agent

The ELS registration number provided to the agent by the ATO.

Not required

Add a column to identify returns that are either now required this year or not required in any future year.

 

The Return required setting is on the Return Properties PAYG/Lodge tab. It may be set by:

  • lodging a Client Update form;

  • using the Update return not required task on this page; or,

  • updating your returns in bulk, see Bulk return edit.

On the Tasks bar the options include:

Update StatusThis task allows you to change the status of the Main Return Types. Also available on the Tax Client - Search Page.
Update return not requiredThis task opens the Return Properties PAYG/Lodge tab so that you can set the Return Required field to Required, Not this year or No future return.
