To enable a user to perform backups you must first set up the correct permissions.

To configure backup permissions
  1. Select Maintenance > Security > Security Group Maintenance. The Maintenance — Security Group Maintenance page opens.

  2. Ensure that the team member who will perform backups has the Super User checkbox selected.

  3. Click OK. To save the changes and close the Maintenance — Security Group Maintenance page.

  4. Select Maintenance > Security > Task Permissions. The Maintenance — Task Permissions page opens.

  5. Select Central from the Product drop-down.

  6. Click  beside the Maintenance Group Description to list the permissions for that area. The list expands and displays a checkbox in the Allow column.

  7. Click the Allow checkbox for [Maintenance][Backup].

  8. Click the Allow checkbox for #Backup#ReceiveFailureNotification.

  9. Click OK. To save the changes and close the Maintenance — Task Permissions page.
