Employees

Scan your list of employees in MYOB AO to ensure that it is correct. Open a selection of employees and confirm their details converted successfully.

To do this:

  • Select Open > Employee from the menu and click Search on the Find Employees page to view a list of Employees.

  • Double-click an employee name to open and view the employee details.

Finding an existing employee.

Practice

The details for practice name, address, agent and contact numbers, and ABN. To do this:

  1. Open the Tax — Client Search page.

  2. Select Control Record on the Tasks bar.

  3. Check the information on the General tab.

Configuring the Control Record.

Tax agent

The details of the Tax Agent for your practice on the Control Record:

  1. Open the Tax — Client Search page.

  2. Select Control Record on the Tasks bar.

  3. Check the information on the Lodgment tab.

For each other tax agent:

  1. Open the Tax — Client Search page.

  2. Select Agents on the Tasks bar.

  3. Select an agent and click Properties.

  4. Check the information on all tabs.

Your tax contact(s) details

For details of the Tax Contact for your practice on the Control Record:

  1. Open the Tax — Client Search page.

  2. Select Control Record on the Tasks bar.

  3. If necessary edit the Names/Audit tab.
    The details display on the Lodgment tab.

For each other tax contact:

  1. Open the Tax — Client Search page.

  2. Select Contacts on the Tasks bar.

  3. Select an entry and click Properties.

  4. Check the information on all tabs.

Configuring the Control Record.

ELS communication setup

The details of the configuration for the electronic lodgment service for returns lodged by the Tax Agent recorded on the Control Record:

  1. Open the Tax — Client Search page.

  2. Select ELS setup on the Tasks bar.

  3. Check the details on each tab on the ELS IP Properties window.

Rollover a tax return for one of your clients

Perform a roll over for one of your clients. Ensure that the details have been rolled over correctly. These details include the Partner, Agent, Spouse information and Rental properties. To do this:

  1. Search for and open a client. See Finding an existing client.

  2. Access the Tax Returns tab on the Client page.

  3. Double-click the last return in the table which has a status of Not started.

  4. Click Yes to roll over details into the new tax return for the present year.

Creating a return.

Preview, print and send a return to PDF

To preview and print a return:

  1. Open the Tax - Client Search page.

  2. Select Print Return on the Tasks bar.

  3. Click OK.

  4. Click Preview to preview the return.

  5. Click AO-GS-Button-PrintPreview.png to print the return.

  6. Click AO-GS-Button-PDF.png to save the return as a PDF.

To open a MYOB AO Classic return from MYOB AO

To open a prior year return that was prepared in MYOB AO Classic:

  1. Search for and open a client.

  2. Access the Client page > Tax returns tab.

  3. MYOB AO Classic returns are marked with AO-GS-Icon-AOClassic.png.

  4. Double-click one of these returns.
