BankLink client files have the format .BK5, and to open these files you need to run the setup file bkhandlrsetup.exe. This is done to ensure Windows knows to open .BK5 files with BankLink Practice.

 

To run the bkhandlrsetup.exe setup

If you're using a workstation or stand-alone computer, ensure you're logged in as an administrator or a user with administrator privileges. exe and select run as administrator.  You are prompted for the administrator username and password.

  1.  Simultaneously press the Windows and E keys on your keyboard (the Windows key is between the Ctrl and Alt keys). The File Explorer window appears.
  2. Go to the BankLink Practice installation folder. The files and folders in this folder display.
  3. Right-click the file bkhandlrsetup.exe and choose Run as administrator.
  4. If prompted, enter administrator credentials. If unsure, please contact your IT support.

Using a Terminal Server?

Run the bkhandlrsetup.exe in Install Mode while logged in to the Terminal Services Server as Administrator.  This creates the registry entry against all users' profiles.
