Before you begin

Before you begin creating your MYOB Atlas website, you'll need to have a little bit of information handy, such as your business contact details. You'll need to enter your business name, addresses, email address and phone numbers.

Creating your website

Once you have the above information handy, you're ready to begin creating your website. The first step is to complete the MYOB Atlas setup wizard, which makes it quick and easy for you to go live with a basic website. You'll be prompted to enter a small amount of information to begin:

  • Your personal contact information, such as your name, email address and phone number.
  • Your business information, such as your industry (New Zealand only), business name, addresses, email address and phone numbers.
  • Some basic information to show on your website, such as a title, tagline, description of what your business does, and opening hours.
  • Your website theme, including the layout and colour palette.

Although some of these fields are required, most are optional, which means you can leave them blank in the setup wizard and enter them later.

You can also choose to register a domain name for your business. This is a personalised web address that makes your site look professional and makes it easier to find. If you don't want to register a domain name at this stage (or want to link a domain name instead), you can do so later—we'll provide you with a temporary web address until you do.

  FAQs

Do I need a domain name to set up my website?

No, you don't need a domain name to set up your website with MYOB Atlas. When you sign up, you'll be provided with a temporary domain name. And during the setup wizard (or at any time after), you can register a domain name. For more information, see Registering domain names (Australia | New Zealand).

What is web hosting, and what does it mean for my MYOB Atlas website?

Web hosting refers to a service in which your website is hosted on the internet for you. Usually when you set up a website you need to pay a service provider for web hosting, so that your site is uploaded to their server and made accessible to the public.

In MYOB Atlas, web hosting is included with your website, which means you don't need to organise it separately.

Can I change my temporary domain name (or subdomain name)?

No, you can't change the temporary domain name (or subdomain name) that you receive when you set up your website.

However, this temporary domain name is just to get you started with your website. If you don't want to use it to access your website, you can register a domain name (Australia | New Zealand)., and then make sure it's set as your primary domain name. Or, if you've registered domain names with a registrar other than MYOB, link these domain names to your website, and then set one of these as your primary domain name.

Can I edit the details I entered in the setup wizard?

You can click the Back button at the bottom of each step of the setup wizard to go back to the previous step and edit your details. Alternatively, you can leave them as they are and edit them after you complete the setup wizard.
