Using this tool, you can easily identify clients who haven't applied for an online service or who have fallen behind in MYOB software upgrades.

It can also help you tailor an AccountRight product or service solution for each , and email them your recommendations.

Partners can simply and easily export a list of serial numbers from my dot to a csv file format:

  • Log into my.MYOB.com
  • On the top drop-down menu select your desired practice.
  • On the menu bar choose My Account then My Linked Clients from the drop down list.
    You will see a page with a list of all clients linked to your practice to export:
  • Simply click Export Clients on the top of the list. This will download a CSV file format to your default download folder.
  • You can then use this file to import all client's serial numbers to the partner dashboard.
  • If your upgrade fails, the

    2. Enter the Serial number.

    3. Click Search.
      The business name and AccountRight product appears.

    4. Click Upgrade now.

    5. If the file doesn't have an active licence agreement, the Product catalogue page displays – choose a Product level and Payer, and click Continue.

    6. Click Request from client.

    7. Fill in your client's details and ask them to upload their latest company file for migration to the new AccountRight or Essentials.

    8. Click Confirm and send.

      Your client will be able to upload the file directly from the email and the upgrade will then be completed.

      While you're waiting for your client to upload their file, the

      business

      file appears in the list of desktop

      businesses

      files. You'll also see details of the subscription linked to the business (including the number of licences available to

      migrate

      upgrade to the new AccountRight or Essentials) and the upgrade status of the file.

      Your client will be able to upload the file directly from the email and the migration will then be completed.

    To upload the file:

  • Click Add to dashboard on the Desktop businesses tab of your Accounting dashboard. 
    The Find desktop business to upgrade dialog displays.
  • Click Upload file.
    An Explorer window opens.
  • Find and select the first file you want to upload.

    you want to change the file, click Upload file again. When you select the new file, it will replace the old one.
  • Click Add to dashboard.
    A message displays.

  • Click Continue working.
    Successful serial numbers are automatically added to list of Desktop businesses.
    You will receive an email with the import results (including the number of businesses that have been successfully added, and which failed and why.

    If you’re a client is using a classic version of AccountRight (such as MYOB Accounting AccountRight Plus v19 or Premier v19), you’ll need to migrate your file before you can use the features available in upgrade the file to the new AccountRight or move to MYOB Essentials.

    You can add several desktop files at once by importing a CSV file that contains their serial numbers. See Add more than one desktop file at once for information on how to use CSV files.

  • multi-currency, negative inventory or multi-location stock tracking (MYOB Premier)
    • add-ons that use ODBC, but aren't available for the new AccountRight.

    How to upgrade a file 

    To upgrade a file you'll need access to the AccountRight company file you want to migrate. If you don't have a copy of your client's the file, you can send them a request ask your client to upload it a copy of the file for you. The procedures below step you through both options.

    2. Enter the Serial number.
      You can find the serial number on the Company information window (open your company file and go to Setup > Company Information ). 

    3. Click Search.
      The business name and AccountRight product appears.

    4. Click Upgrade now.

    5. If the file doesn't have an active licence agreement, the Product catalogue page displays – choose a Product level and Payer, and click Continue.

    6. Click Upload now.

    7. Find your company file or drag and drop it into the page.

      While the file is being migratedupgraded, the business file appears in the list of desktop businessesfiles. You'll also see details of the subscription linked to the business (including the number of licences available to migrate upgrade to the new AccountRight or Essentials) and the upgrade status of the file.

      When the migration upgrade is complete, the business is moved to the list of online businessesfiles.

    Before you import the file, make sure that it is the option which only contains serial numbers.

    If you don't get an email with the import results, check your spam or junk folder.

  • Upgrade each of the businesses added to the listing – see Upgrade your desktop file at a later stage for the steps to do this.

    titleWhat if some of my businesses don't get imported?

    The email you receive after import will let you know if any of your businesses haven't imported correctly, and will list any failed serial numbers. You'll need to update your CSV file to fix those numbers.

    If your client has the company file, you can still start the migration upgrade process and then get your client to upload the file.

      If your client is taking a while to upload their file, you can send them a reminder to upload it.

      If you receive the file from them, you can upload it yourself instead.

    If your upgrade fails...

    The status of the file in the Desktop window files page will show as Failed, and there will be a new menu item: Resubmit file. Don't panic – someone from and the MYOB Support team will contact you to explain what you need to change, so that you can then how to fix the file and re-submit it.

    When you've fixed the file:

    Click next to the business you want to resubmit

    issue and resubmit the file.

    After the issues have been fixed, click next to the file and select Resubmit file.


    The Upgrade desktop business - Upload latest company file page displays with the order summary.

    Select Upload now or Request from client and then continue as with your original upload.
