Introduction

 

Adding an agency

The first thing you'll need to do is to add your agency into MYOB Practice.

To add an agency
  1. In MYOB Practice, click Settings on the left of the page.
  2. Click Agency details.
  3. On the right of the Agency details page, click Add agency.
  4. Complete the fields:

    • Agency name — Give the agency a name. You'll only see this name in MYOB Practice.
    • Agency IRD number — Identifies the agency. Your practice got this number from IR when you registered an agency with them. You can check the number in your myIR.
    • Client list number — Identifies which client or group of clients the agency can work with. A single agency can have multiple client list numbers. You can check the number in your myIR.
    • Agency address (optional)—The physical address of the agency. After you link the agency to a client, this address appears on the tax notices you generate for the client.

  5. Click Add.


Set up your client

Before you can add your first tax return, you'll need to configure your client's Compliance settings, first. This ensures we create the right type of tax return, with the right details, for your client.

These settings apply to MYOB Practice only.

  1. Select a client on your client sidebar, and click the Settings icon () on the top right of the page.

  2. Under Compliance settings, click Edit. The fields in the Compliance settings become editable.
  3. Edit the required fields.

  4. When finished, click Save.
