Set up your practice

First, you'll need sync your contacts from AE/AO to MYOB Practice. This involves....

If you've done this already, you can continue to add your agency into MYOB Practice.

To add an agency
  1. In MYOB Practice, click Settings on the left of the page.
  2. Click Agency details.
  3. On the right of the Agency details page, click Add agency.
  4. Complete the fields:

    • Agency name — Enter a name for the agency.
    • Agency IRD number — Enter your 9-digit tax agent number.
    • Client list number — Enter the client list ID. You can find this number in myIR.
    • Agency address (optional)—The physical address of the agency.

  5. Click Add.

Set up a client

Before you can add your first tax return, you'll need to configure your client's Compliance settings, first. This ensures we create the right type of tax return, with the right details, for your client.

To edit your client's Compliance settings and link an agent

To edit Compliance settings

  1. Select a client on your client sidebar, and click the Settings icon () on the top right of the page.

  2. Under Compliance settings, click Edit. The fields in the Compliance settings become editable.
  3. Edit the required fields.

  4. When finished, click Save.

Now that you've set up your client and linked your agency them, you can add a tax return for them.
