17 March 2023Inland Revenue (IR) transaction data duplicatedOutstanding

Update - 23 March 2023:

We're deleting IR duplicates. If you've created MYOB transactions or voluntary adjustments as a workaround, you need to delete these transactions and adjustments so that you're not left with incorrect data. Learn more.

Update 22 March 2023:

IR have fixed the duplicate transaction issue so we've re-enabled the Refresh IR data button. However, IR's fix doesn't remove any duplicates already received. We're working on a fix to correct duplicates.

Original issue:

Duplicate transactions are being sent by IR, causing the Unreconciled transactions table to incorrectly show an extra row of data. This can affect assessments, payments or transfers.

IR are investigating and working to resolve this issue. In the meantime, we've disabled the Refresh IR data button in Data reconciliation.

11 October 2021Delay in processing IR's overnight Transaction Data Services (TDS) feedExpected behaviour

We'll automatically populate IR transactions into Data reconciliation as soon as IR sends the data to us. Even though the process is sometimes delayed, you won't miss out on receiving data.

At the end of each business day, IR processes the data for the day. Ideally, IR would send the TDS data to MYOB early the following morning, but sometimes their data processing takes longer than expected. When it's delayed, the data might not arrive until the afternoon and, occasionally, it might take longer than one business day.

If you have a client who needs their data before the TDS data arrives, you can manually refresh their data:

  1. Search and select the client in your client sidebar.
  2. Click Compliance on the top menu bar and select Data reconciliation.
  3. Click Refresh IR data.
15 July 2021Account name missing for client's bank accountExpected behaviour

When your client has a refund, and you've refreshed their bank account into their tax return, your client's account name might be missing from the tax return.

This happens when there's no account name stored within myIR. Previously, IR didn't require you to enter an account name.

The bank account name doesn't need to be added if you are happy to just have the client's bank account number.

If you want the account name to show:
  1. In myIR, delete the bank account and re-add the bank account with the account name
  2. In the tax return, Refresh bank details from myIR.

Tax returnUnable to create current year return after changing balance monthOutstanding

After changing balance month, the latest tax return year isn't available in the Add new window when the transitional financial year is less than 12 months.

This issue only occurs if there's a prior year return for the previous balance month. For example, a 2022 period return isn't available after changing balance month from June to March when a 2021 return exists for the same client.

JULY 2021

In myIR, prepare and file the return.

Quick tax calculatorQuick tax calculator not availableOutstanding

You might still be using the quick tax calculator in desktop AE/AO tax as MYOB Practice Tax doesn't yet have a quick tax calculator.

If you use AE/AO's quick tax calculator for 2022 and future years, the result might be incorrect, as the calculator hasn't been updated with the recent compliance changes. The calculator won't use the new top individual rate of 39% when income is over $180,000.

JULY 2021

For individuals with income over $180,000, you can use the MYOB tax calculator.
