If you're moving from AccountRight v19 (or earlier) to AccountRight 2018, this information is for you. If you're updating AccountRight 2011 or later, check out 'Getting the latest version' instead. To check your current AccountRight version, go to the Help menu and choose About AccountRight.

Need some help finding your AccountRight Classic (v19 or earlier) company file to be upgraded? Here are some tips:

  • Keep an eye out for .myo files – this is the file extension for AccountRight v19 files, such as My Company File.myo. Some older software versions might have a .prm or .dat file extension:

  • Check the installation folder of your previous version (for example, C:\Plus19 or C:\PlusClassic). Most files will be here.
  • Check your network drive or any portable storage devices.

Upgrading from MYOB FirstAccounts (Australia only)

MYOB FirstAccounts company files must first be upgraded to AccountRight v19, then upgraded to the new AccountRight. This support note steps you through how to do it: Upgrading FirstAccounts to AccountRight.

When you've found your file, head back to the Things you should know before upgrading page to make sure you've ticked off the other tasks before you upgrade your file.
