Asset register in browser only. Australia only.
You can import assets into the asset register from a CSV file. You might have created this file in Excel or exported from another system.
Prepare to import
Before you import, check that the file format is correct by opening it in Excel (or your preferred spreadsheet software). Check that all the column headings match the CSV file format table.
To help make importing easier, we've created a template with all the column headings in the required format. Download this template, open it in Excel, then add your own data.
Importing a CSV file
You can only import one CSV file at a time. If you have more than one file to import, repeat the steps.
- Open the Asset register for your client.
- Click Add asset in the top-right corner then select Import CSV.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to import the file.
Based on the validity of the data you import, you may be asked to review the information before you confirm the import into the asset register.
The asset import review screen has 3 coloured sections:
Section | Description |
---|---|
Red | Assets that are missing key information. We won't import these assets unless you complete the missing information. Enter the missing information to ensure accurate calculation of your assets before you click Confirm import. |
Yellow | We've automatically updated the assets based on the following business rules:
We recommend that you review the updated fields before you click Confirm import. |
Green | Assets that are ready to import. |
If your CSV file has incorrect formatting we'll display error messages on the screen.
Make sure that your file:
- is in .CSV format
- contains all the column headings shown in the file format requirements
- satisfies the file format requirements
If you get error messages, review and fix the CSV file and try importing again.
