Create your file

Your business and transaction details are stored in a company file, and you can keep the file online or on your desktop.

If you don't have a file, it's easy to create one.

If you purchased AccountRight online or registered a POSA card, you created a company file when you downloaded the software and stepped through the setup assistant. If you haven't done this yet, find the email we sent you after your purchase/registration and click the download link.

Set up and get started

You can do a lot in AccountRight, but you don't need to set up everything before you can get going. Just set up what you want to use.

Here are some suggestions to get you started: 

• Set up your accounts list the way your accountant wants them.
• Enter your customer, supplier and employee contact details.
• Set up your sales preferences, form layouts and history
• Set up payroll.

Now you’ve covered the essentials, it’s time to start thinking about how AccountRight can help transform the way you work.

Set up bank feeds and let us do the data entry for you – link your bank accounts directly to AccountRight to match, add and reconcile transactions easily.

If you haven't already, put your file online to allow access to your accounts anywhere and anytime, and by anyone you’ve invited (such as your colleagues, bookkeeper and accountant) – you can even choose which areas of your file they can see. And once your file's online, use the In Tray to automatically enter and store your bills. How’s that for efficiency?
